Pet Sitting
Requirements
Every animal and every environment is
unique to your own personal situation. No two routines are ever the
same; therefore, it is a policy at VIP to set up a one-on-one visit
with your sitter before your leave. A consultation is scheduled and
lasts around 30 minutes.
The primary purpose of this meeting is to acquaint your animals with
the sitter. Good synergy between pet and sitter ensures a happy,
trusting relationship that will give you peace of mind during your
absence.
We will also fill out our service form that outlines such things as
feeding schedules, when and amount of food, location of food, bowls,
treats, emergency contacts, veterinarian, location and phone number,
medications needed, etc. The sitter will familiarize his/her self
with your home and discuss any other services you might want: mail
pick up, trash cans put out for collection, lights turned on and
off, blinds/drapes adjusted, plants watered, and so on. This visit
will also be your opportunity to ask other questions that have not
already been answered about our routine, policies, charges or any
other requests you might have.
An authorization and release form must be signed and dated for our
records as well. For you convenience you can view and/or fill out
his form on-line (forms link here) and either email, mail or fax it
to us prior to our initial consult or wait until the face-to-face
meeting.
It is company policy to get 2 keys to your home, one for back up, at
this time. If the sitter has to return to pick up the keys, a trip
fee will apply or you may mail the keys to VIP, but the keys must
reach us at least 5 days before your start date.
For a new client, one half (1/2) of the full payment is due at the
consultation and the balance must be left in a pre-arranged spot in
your home. Other arrangements can be made but must be accepted by
VIP. A cancellation fee of $35.00 within 48 hours or less will be
charged on all bookings.
A holiday surcharge is levied for New Years Day, Easter, Memorial
Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The amount is
an additional $10.00. Cancellation of a holiday booking within four
(4) weeks is $50.00. One half (1/2) of the holiday fee is due in
advance, no exceptions.
Total overnight fees for a holiday are due in full four (4) weeks
prior to commencement and ARE NOT refundable if cancelled (some
exceptions may apply).
